Aluminum Enclosure Advantages

Aluminum can weigh up to two thirds less compared to its carbon steel and stainless steel counterparts. Nonetheless, lightweight aluminum enclosures are extremely durable and with aluminum’s high strength to weight ratio they still offer sufficient strength for many applications. Another advantage of aluminum enclosures is aluminum’s ease of maintenance, because aluminum enclosures will not rust.

Aluminum Enclosure Disadvantages

Aluminum is not as strong as steel and so possibly might not be the best material for some enclosure applications. Also, in high temperatures, aluminum can expand up to twice as much as steel.
